What do teens need to know about money management?

Everyone in the family should learn money management skills. Because each family member is considered when a family budget is created. Teens, like all family members, need to learn money management skills as they eat food and wear clothes.

Every family spends or earns money every day. The problem is that not all parents are aware that their children need to know how much money they have, how much is saved, and how much is spent on different needs.

You don’t have to worry about your children’s financial needs, but they need to understand that money can be hard to come by. You can help your children understand the value of money by telling them how much money is coming into the family, how it is saved, and how much they are spending.

Your children should begin to appreciate the value of money as early as age 5. It is important to tell your children about the family budget, how much income they have saved and how much you plan on spending it.

You should show your teens how to save some of their income if they are income-earners. You should teach them how to create a business plan, and then follow it. Teach them how they can buy their clothes and other large items such as TVs.

You can’t teach your children if you don’t teach them. They may learn how to use the money for drugs, alcohol, gambling, and other vices.

As much as you, your children need to be able to manage money. You can teach them money management skills today to help them manage their money from childhood and have a bright financial future.
